Puccini: La Boheme / Beecham, Bjorling, De los Angeles, etc
It is always with great sadness that Tasmin listens to works by Puccini – he never wrote a violin concerto, and she feels that if anyone should have written one, it should be him. This is her favourite recording of Puccini's masterpiece La Boheme, the tenor Jussi Bjorling is 'wonderful, heroic in a beautiful and musical way … everything he does and sings is so right it could not be done any other way.'

Queen: Greatest Hits I and II
Tasmin enjoys listening to a lot of pop music, and one of her favourite bands, which stems from when she was younger, is Queen. Whilst she has several of their albums, it is their Greatest Hits Volume II that stands out in her mind, and when teamed with Greatest Hits Volume I, this is the definitive Queen collection.

Holst: The Planets / James Loughran, Halle Orchestra
Tasmin has played the Brahms Violin Concerto with James Loughran and the Halle Orchestra twice now, and has fond memories of both the conductor and orchestra. This recording of Holst's majestic Planets is her favourite … I like it very much.

Stravinsky: The Rite of Spring, The Firebird /Rattle, Dorati
'I just absolutely love the whole ballet' says Tasmin of Stravinsky's Firebird Suite, and with Rattle conducting it is superb. Heard here with Stravinsky's most controversial work, The Rite of Spring, this is a great addition to any music collection.
