Atlanta Ballet accused of unfairness by musicians
Members of the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra who have been striking since last year have accused the company of unfair labor practices. They began striking last September, after contributions to their pension fund by the ballet company were removed. The management announced last week that they would be importing players from the Czech Republic in an attempt to make it possible for them to stage scheduled performances later in the year. However, the striking musicians claim that they were not given sufficient notice of the move, and their union has filed charges of unfair labor practices against the ballet with the National Labor Relations Board.
